Massage Therapy Foundation

Basics of Research Literacy (Click here to register)
In order to build evidence-based practices, massage therapists and bodyworkers must be able to access, evaluate and use research results in real life. Participants will learn the basics of research literacy: what research is, how to do a literature search and critically review current literature, and how to evaluate the findings in research studies based on the evidence presented. Participants will also learn the effective use of online research skills, including the use of search engines and how to access and use the relevant data bases. This is an interactive, online, self-paced course with no time limit for completion. To read more about the BRL click here and to read more about the Massage Therapy Foundation click here.
This course was created by Education and Training Solutions as a fund raiser for the Massage Therapy Foundation and 65% of the proceeds will go back to the Foundation.
You will receive 6 hours of approved NCBTMB continuing education when you complete the course. We are also approved providers in Texas and Florida.
Cost: $75 ($65 for five or more registering on the same credit card. Please email Jan for instructions)
Massage therapist, Rosemary Chuno, says:
This course is a vital first step for every therapist wishing to be informed by research. It not only demonstrates the reasoning behind *why* every therapist needs the ability to find and critique research, but it equips the student with the first steps in how to do that, with examples that we all can relate to. As an added bonus, it was also engaging and fun.
Note: you cannot register without a credit card. Please have your credit card ready when you begin the registration process. It can cause problems if you have to interrupt your registration in the middle of completing it.
